My entrepreneurial hunger and delight in bringing joy to the lives of others gave birth to the Yard Card Queen dream. Yard Card Queen was born at the beginning of a global pandemic after many months of planning. Our services were in need to help families celebrate while social distancing. The first YCQ greeting was staked in my front yard and the joy began to spread through the neighborhoods of Dallas, Texas.
Soon after, many other women and men with an entrepreneurial spirit inquired about sharing the love in their own communities. In a short time, sixty affiliates joined the team and more are joining by the week. Thanks to our dedicated team and loyal customers, the Yard Card Queen family and brand is spreading coast to coast. The hard work pays off every time another child is pictured with a beaming smile behind their special greeting, or a soldier arrives home after serving our country for a long season, or a school thanks to their teachers for their tireless love of students! It never gets old! It is an amazing gift that I don’t take for granted. I am committed to maintaining the values and joy that launched this fun company in the first place. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Success is a climb. It’s a journey. It’s lifelong and built with unpredictable ups and downs. It has not been easy and there have been many struggles, but success is always built upon risk, change, and personal development. This journey has taught me to push onward towards my dreams. I know that if I want to succeed, I must have the resilience to face the inevitability of failure and doubt. To achieve anything, you have to think positively about what you are doing. You have to know that what you are doing is right. You have to believe that you will succeed, and you have to trust the process. And that is what I focus on, to succeed. We have an incredible and dedicated team at Yard Card Queen and they make things run pretty smoothly.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up in Garland, Texas, I was fortunate to have parents that made me feel I was capable of anything. I remember them telling me at a young age that I was smart, inclusive and driven and it helped me to see those things in myself. I was an avid soccer player from the age of five, so I was used to being competitive and it gave me a lot of confidence to succeed. I was very active in athletics, I also played basketball, softball, and volleyball. Thankfully soccer got me a full scholarship to Southern Methodist University, where I studied Business & Marketing. This helped spark my interest in entrepreneurship. I have always been a big dreamer and can think of a huge project and somehow put it into action. I knew I wanted to be a part of something that opened up opportunities for people that are not always given the same chances I have had. I have made that happen with Yard Card Queen.
